Supervising 101

In the after school field we can come to the role of supervisor by many different paths.  We know that strong leadership is an essential ingredient in a high quality program.  It is with this in mind that we are offering a four-part course in youth development and leadership.

Adapted from a time-tested model delivered by the Youth Development Training and Resource Center (YDTRC), this course is designed for new and aspiring supervisors as well as those interested in improving their skills.  Running from November  to February, participants will discuss fundamentals that will help make them more effective leaders.

Making Sense of Staff Evaluations

Thursday, May 18th
Charter Oak Room, Building 1

In a staff evaluation, there should be no surprises. Providing meaningful feedback to staff on an ongoing basis helps them and the larger program grow. Delivering an honest evaluation with constructive criticism can be a challenge and being prepared can make the process go a lot smoother. In this final Supervising 101 session, we will discuss
and practice effective observation and assessment techniques that allow you to give an objective evaluation of your staffs’ performance. Leave feeling confident to close out the school year and be equipped with tools to help you develop your program.
