Local Connecticut Program Highlighted in National Magazine

The other day I was meeting with the Connecticut After School Network Board Chair Vince LaFontan in his office about a recent article that was published in the Child Care Exchange about his program. In the 20 years the program, Farmington EXCL, has been running, staff have pushed the boundaries to challenge children’s thinking and opened them up to new and innovative topics to learn about. In the past couple of years the program has been aligning learning goals and now incorporates them in the program structure. This engaging program that has connected in and out-of-school year round learning was highlighted this month and featured National Principal of the Year (2015) Alicia Bowman and theĀ UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) program that was started last year at West Woods Upper Elementary School.
