Explorer Classroom

Program Description:  Engage students in a live discussion and Q&A session with cutting-edge scientists, researchers and storytellers from across the globe. Explorer Classroom: Afterschool Edition is an interactive YouTube show that connects students with world-renowned National Geographic Explorers, like Mt. Everest Cartographer Alex Tait.

Important Dates & Deadlines:  Starting February 24, 2021 – Biweekly on Wednesdays at 4 P.M. (EST)
Promotion Period: Immediate and every two weeks as scheduled.

BioBlitz

Program Description:  Learn to create lessons on biodiversity through outdoor exploration with our BioBlitz webinar training series. Each session teaches afterschool educators how to lead students in safe, fun and free BioBlitz activities in which students must find as many species as possible over a short period of time.

Educator Certification

Program Description: Empower students to become the next generation of change-makers by fostering a better understanding of the world around them. Gain hands-on experience in creating interdisciplinary activities that teach problem-solving on local, regional and global scales from sessions hosted by skilled educators. Afterward, join a supportive community of afterschool educators.

National Geographic Educator Certification is a free professional development program that recognizes pre-K through 12 formal and informal educators committed to inspiring the next generation of explorers, conservationists, and changemakers.

  • Classes Begin: February 15, 2021
  • Enrollment Closes: March 1, 2021
  • Program End Date: April 24, 2021
  • Participant Evaluations: April 26 – May 14, 2021
