Supporting LGBTQ Youth in Afterschool

Webinar Description:  Safer spaces are created when youth feel not only included but encouraged to be their whole selves. Using developmental frameworks and identity models, Kira Manser will share an individualized approach to understanding gender and diversity. Participants will learn how to recognize and address bullying, homophobia and transphobia. The webinar will also provide tangible guidance and resources for participants to proactively create learning environments where LGBTQ youth, families and allies feel welcomed and affirmed.

The webinar will offer information and guidance around creation of safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQ youth. This conversation will be led by Elana Rosenberg of the Rhode Island After School Plus Alliance (RIASPA) and Kira Manser, LCSW, MEd, who is Program Manager at CSPH, an education and advocacy non-profit located in Pawtucket, RI.
