Annual Giving Opportunities
#GivingTuesday
November 29, 2022
Known as one of the year’s biggest day of generosity, GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We are reaching a historical breakthrough in this past year’s pandemic, as we continue to support afterschool programs throughout the state by providing free virtual trainings and other resources that benefits the individual and the community as a whole.
COVID-19 is still a major factor in our after school community and beyond, the impact continues to be felt by many around the state. Thankfully nonprofits like ours, are here to help, but we need your support to meet the demand and to help people emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever. A great way to support the Network is through The Community Foundation’s Great Give. Your donation unlocks additional matching funds and prizes of more than $215,000. Early giving opens on April 25!

The Connecticut After School Network Tribute and Memorial Program was created at your request as a way to give special recognition to people who have made a difference in your life. A donation to the Tribute and Memorial Program gives you the opportunity to honor a loved one, friend, or business associate through a memorial gift or in tribute on an occasion of celebration, such as a birthday, anniversary, or retirement. A tribute gift may also be made as an expression of appreciation to a caregiver. The program is a meaningful way to express feelings of remembrance or gratitude.
Each year, more than seven thousand corporations provide matching funds to non-profit organizations across the country. If you work for a company that matches employee contributions, you may be eligible to have your gift to Connecticut After School Network matched. Because employers consider matching gifts a benefit to their employees, your company’s human resources department or personnel office is the most likely source for specific information. Complete the matching-gift form provided by your employer and send it with your gift to Connecticut After School Network who will process the company form and notify you when the match is received.
Gifts through Your Will – For many donors, making a gift through your estate is the preferred way to make a substantial contribution to Connecticut After School Network. These types of gifts may reduce or eliminate estate taxes. Bequests may indicate a specific dollar amount, a specific piece of property, or a stated percentage of the estate.[/tab]
