The Connecticut State Department of Education has posted the Request for Proposals (RFP) on-line for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Competitive Grant. Proposals are due August 21, 2014.

Eligible applicants include local educational agencies, community based organizations, faith based organizations, other public or private organizations, a consortium of two or more agencies that may include but are not limited to local and regional boards of education, Regional Education Service Centers applying on behalf of local education agencies, charter and magnet schools.
21st CCLC Grant Programs must be designed to serve students attending schools with a high concentration of low-income students, where at least 40 percent of the children served lunch are eligible for free or reduced price meals.
In addition, the Department has released the RFP for the 21st Century Community Learning Center Expanded Learning Time Grant Program whose purpose is to expand school-based learning time by 300 or more hours through a longer school day, week and/or year for addressing school wide priorities for all students.
