STEM Focused Mini-Grants for After School Programs in Connecticut

The Connecticut After School Network in collaboration with the NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium is offering mini-grants of $1000 each to fund ten afterschool programs across Connecticut in an effort to expand STEM learning in an experiential way.

Possible programming must be a minimum of two days per week over at least 8 weeks afterschool and could include robotics, coding, maker spaces, rocket building/launching, and chemistry. This opportunity is to help afterschool programs located in elementary, middle, and/or high school expand learning from the classroom to incorporate hands-on learning that engages children and youth. Programs are not required to have an existing STEM component. The grant can be used to enhance current offerings.

Awards will be announced October 11th with an anticipated start date of October 28th and a completion date of January 31, 2020. Selected programs will be required to attend a mandatory conference call in early November (TBD), to discuss program planning and implementation of the mini-grant,  a second conference call in January 2020 (TBD).
