Connecticut Needs Summer Learning Programs

UPDATE 2/22/18.  The Education Committee will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in Room 1E of the LOB.  For more detailed information click here.

UPDATE 2/21/18. The Education Committee has raised the summer learning grant bill that we support. Raised House Bill 5168. A public hearing will be scheduled soon.

The Connecticut After School Network is coordinating efforts this year to pass new legislation to create Summer Learning Grants that align with the After School Grants passed in 2007.

We will release a new report on “Why Summer Matters: Summer Programs in Connecticut” at a legislative breakfast on Wednesday, February 28 from 8-10 am.

If you are interested in attending and inviting your legislators, please rsvp by emailing info@ctafterschoolnetwork.org and we will send you an evite you can share with your legislators.
