Sisters in Science
What is Sisters in Science?
- An afterschool program of the New Britain Youth Museum designed to foster interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education & careers.
 - Our goal is to eliminate the social, economic and cultural barriers that stand in the way of young female minds in their pursuit of STEM.
 - We offer earlier access to hands-on STEM education and social emotional development to maintain girls’ interests in the sciences.
 
Who can be a mentor?
- College students
 - Community professionals
 - Retired STEM & Education professions
 - Background check required
 - No experience needed
 
Mentors will meet with mentees once a month for:
- Career and college exploration activities
 - Hands-on STEM activities
 - Homework help
 - Building resource to STEM
 - Empowering and impacting change
 - Create a sisterhood
 - Games, fun and more!
