Question from Fairfield County- What are some fun summer activities that we can incorporate into our program? We want to spend more time outside but we need some ideas. Do you have any suggestions for outdoor activities?
Hey Fairfield, thank you for asking this question. Spending more time outside is a great step for your program! However, you want to make sure that you are making good use of that time. What skills are you incorporating? How can you use that time to teach something new? How are they using their creativity? We have some helpful suggestions and resources to inspire you. An art activity is always a great way for your students to use their creativity. You can have them search for rocks and paint them. You can provide them with chalk and have them draw. You can also play sports to encourage teamwork. Here is a resource on planning summer learning and activities. This resource also has ideas for activities that you can plan.
